Vagator Beach in Goa
Situated at a distance of 9 kilometers from Mapusa and 22 kilometers from Panaji, lies the Vagator beach. With black lava rocks and golden sands, lined with coconut trees, the Vagator beach is a tourists delight. It is mainly a fishing village so fishermen often frequent the beach. The famous Chapora fort provides the ideal background for the beach.
While on the Vagator beach, you can watch the ocean change its color from aquamarine blue to a tinge of green. To truly enjoy your visit to the beach, take a stroll on the shore bare feet and let the gentle waves lap at your feet. If you have the luxury of time, sit with the locals and listen to the numerous stories and local legends that have been talked about over the ages in these parts. They are interesting and you get to taste home cooked food too as the villagers are very warm people who treat guests as kindly as they can.
The 500-year-old Portuguese Fort, known as the Chapora fort is also an ideal getaway for some stolen moments with oneself. Spend some time in the historical monument and watch the sun go down into the ocean. Your visit to the Vagator beach will be worth it!
